Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday (17-November-2020) made a major announcement
when he said that his government is mulling to shut down several crowded markets and also crowded places in the city-state in wake of the current spurt in the coronavirus cases and has sent a proposal to the Centre government in this regard.

The Chief Minister Shri ArvindKejriwal, who addressed a media ANI briefing on Tuesday, thanked the government in Centre for providing extra beds i.e. 750 for COVID-19 patients in Delhi Hospitals.
"Since cases are rising in Delhi, we are sending a general proposal to the central government that if required, Delhi government can implement shutting down those markets & places for few days, where norms are not being followed and they are becoming a local COVID-19 hotspot and may be it'sbecome dangerous situations", CM Kejriwal said as quoted by news agency ANI.

"Delhi government, Centre government and all agencies have been making 'double efforts' to control of the spreading of COVID-19 situation in Delhi.
CM Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo further added that his government has asked to the Centre to limit the number of guests limit will be 50 rather than limit of 200 guests in wedding functions and also all these types of activities in the national capital Delhi as it's very necessary steps towards stopping spread of COVID-19 virus.
